Last Ride 2017

For those who don’t know, on the last Sunday of every year, the Suicidals take to the road one final time.

And as with every year, they’re extending an open invite to all our 2 wheeled friends – Feel free to join them for one last run as we bid farewell to 2017.

The ROUTE:

Meeting at McDonalds’ N1 City at 7.00am (for filling up) to leave at 7.30am

N1 towards Cape Town

Victoria Road to Hout Bay Road/M63

Turn Right onto M3

Turn right towards M64 for breakfast at Pollsmoor Prison

After Breakfast,

Continue on M64 to Victoria Drive 

Straight to Waterfront for end of run.refreshments

After Waterfront – Everyone is free to head back their own way and in their own time.

Fuel and refreshment stops will be confirmed on the day

Total Distance – approximately 108 kms

Howard Dembovsky National Chairperson of the Justice Project SA joins us at 9pm and we get his take on a host of traffic law enforcement issues from Flashing your lights at oncoming cars to warn of speed traps, wheel clamping and vehicle impoundments and festive season roadblocks.

MOCT once again comes together in support of our annual charity drive in aid of FOCHA and The Red Cross Children’s Hospital Trust.

All donations will be made in person on the day by yourself. MOCT will not be collecting in advance.

Flying Club

The Stellenbosch Flying club invites family, friends and Fellow Bikers to join us for our year end fun day on Saturday 2 December! There will be Cold Craft beer stands, pizza’s, prego rolls, burgers, and so much more! Between 12-3 pm we will have a Radio Controlled aircraft display and even jumping castle for the kids. For those that are keen to fly in, there will be spot landing and flour bombing competition in the morning at 10 am, with the briefing and registration at 9:30. In the evening there will be a Spit Braai with a live band Akkedis! (contact Andrew at the office at 021-880 0294 for the evening band/dinner tickets) So bring the family and come joing us for a fun filled day!

The first radio show produced by bikers – presented by bikers – owned by bikers – for bikers and every other road user – launched in 2012 on Bush Radio.

The show will be broadcast every Monday evening from 7pm to 10pm on 89.5FM and available via internet / mobile phone across the world).

The show will continue to have something for everyone – those to whom biking is a hobby; others who see it as a lifestyle and for those who believe biking is life itself!

This three-hour show will have weekly features on road safety, featured bike of the week; club of the week; general biker news; special guests and if it needs to be aired for debate, it will be dealt with on The Biker Show.

On the Biker Show tonight we chat with FALCONS MCC and friends represented by Pres Alaine Rich, Lindsey- Treasurer, Jeneall – Secretary and Prospects Idrees and Nizaam as well as “hang around”-Craig and friends – Mary Davids one of founder members of The Santa Shoe Box Run & husband Eugene, Oscar, Warren and Bradley. We find out about the club and the personalities that make up the membership. We also find out more about the Falcons and Friends Santa Shoe Box Run taking place at 10:30 on 16 December 2017.

In Tech Review we chat with Dave Abrahams our tech guru about his impressions of this year’s Toy Run. We discuss his observations with respect to the biking fraternity and how significant it is that in Cape Town a number of patched clubs in one place is a social event, where in other parts of the world it may well be a recipe for disaster.   

Howard Dembovsky National Chairperson of Justice Project SA provides feedback on a landmark court case related to the powers of private estates to enforce speeding on their properties and the implications the judgement has for people living on and visiting these estates. We also get his input on Average Speed over Distance cameras and the guidelines applicable to them if any.

Calling all bike clubs, solo riders, bike enthusiasts!!! We will be the official drop zone for non-perishable foods to be distributed to farmers in the drought stricken Karoo, Northern Cape, Western Cape, Namaqualand and whereever else the need may exist. We challenge the clubs of the Western Cape to outdo each other. Help us to put food on our farmer’s tables this Christmas. Beer garden, wine bar, cocktail corner, food and much more.
